You also need to plan and have a systematic approach to implementing the health and safety policy with the aim to minimise risks to your employees and staff. This will involve undertaking appropriate risk assessments to decide on your priorities and to set objectives for eliminating hazards and reducing risks;

In addition, you will be measuring your performance against agreed standards to reveal when and where improvement is needed;

At the appropriate stage arrangements will be made for an independent audit of the whole health and safety system to review your performance to enable you to comply with sections 2 to 6 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other relevant safety legislation.
